Zooming out should help, it will take the work and show it in quarters and eventually years on the gantt chart if you zoom out enough. Another thing you can do is filter out tasks based on start and finish dates, see the screenhots below highlighting how to do so. First hover over either column and you'll notice a filter icon appear. 

Click on this and you will be brought to a pop up where you can filter only the dates within a certain range you want to see so there will be less blank space to print. Try that and let me know if it helps or if you have further questions.
